mini promo pack

while i am home for easter, i wanted to go down to local art galleries, art shops etc and to show them my work as they represent and sell a lot of local artist work. however, i didn't want to just hand in my business card as they doesn't immediately visually show what i can do - yes it has my web address on they could visit and see, this requires them to put effort in.

though i have designed my promo pack which would be ideal to drop into the galleries, while i am home for easter i do not have the facilities to print in a2/3 (the size i need to print my promo pack onto(... so i have have tried to come up with another promo pack/business card that would showcase my illustrations - and that i can print at home on nice card.

for this mini promotional pack, i chose illustrations that show more aesthetics and craft instead of commercial/advertisement illustrations as this is the type of work art galleries are looking to showcase.

i like the idea of creating a promotional pack/card that would fold down to the size of a business card and concertina out showing examples of my illustrations on one side, and a short summarised creative cv on the other.

  • i dont like the left front panel
  • i think the idea of having the front and back panels of the concertina the same as what i would put on the front and back of my business card would look most effective. - (below)

however, thinking about this design, when folded out, the 2 sides would then look odd with one illustration being on the same side as the cv and one rectangle of the cv being on the illustration side.

i decided to keep the illustrations and information separate, this would mean an illustration would be on one of the front panels of the concertina, which although will not look like the front and back of a/my business card, it will instantly give the viewer a taster of the rest of the illustration style inside the concertina.

Problems printing and folding the concertina

the printer was very temperamental and didn't always print straight which made the folding and cutting down very tricky

as i was double side printing, i had to work out how to set up my page and turn my paper round the right way for it to bring corrected an aligned... a lot harder then i thought... this happened alot - gaps on opposite sides.
final design and print
